Knowledge On The Newest Music Technologies

In the current age of the music-industry, the desire to sound different from the crowd has created an increasing need for new technology and sounds. Not only are new instrument variations — the electric violin or hollow-bodied electric guitars come to mind immediately — sprouting up constantly, but so are the tools used to modify the sounds and frequencies of these instruments. Even the simplest of tools like the amplifier is being modified in eclectic and unusual ways to add traditional effects like reverb and more complex effects like amp overload or phasers– this job was originally reserved for effects pedals or post-recording processors.

Even more unusual is emergence of the sound processor that requires no sound. New “touch pad” synths and drum machines absolutely flood the music scene in emerging experimental genres such as “dubstep” or “industrial”. These same technologies are also being employed within the editing room to mix tracks together seamlessly without the slightest amount of sound-wave distortion.

When all of the different stages of productions mesh together the increasing amounts of technology, final tracks and entire albums begin to set themselves apart from the rest of the musical crowd– gaining popularity and quickly flying through the charts of culturally-accepted masterpieces.
